  • So I solved the issues and backtracing latest stuff helped. It was caused by a new PC using a Realtek 2.5GBE card which somehow crashed/collides with my DHCP server on the SW - when this PC uses WiFi its all good, and LAN is all bad - I will now update the Realtek driver an then check if it is solved or not.
  • ok, Ill take s closer look. For now i have taken a new MiniPC offline which Id id buy last week - maybe thats what caused it. Ill know more the next days
  • I checked all DHCP settings, pool size etc. I do not see an information / block / error or warning in the SW debug log- ist absolutely blank. I doubt it is a switch in my house/prior to the SW as I can ping any device within the network from a PC which has a static IP. What I also noticed is that it almost always at the…
  • Hi - me neither until now. I have 3 other TZ Gen7 connected to FritzBoxes and they are all fine. If I put a "dumb" switch in between there is now way of knowing if the problem really goes away since the FB and switch could be Port flapping without me noticing it. I guess I gotta do a cable test first
  • Same here, Vodafone branded FritzBox cable .- driving me nuts.... Guess I gotta try a switch in between... @Sonicwall: WHY?????
  • Yes - For the Sonicwall just buy a SW SFP Copper module and connect it to a native 2.5 or 5G port on a switch - that will work. If u use an SFP module on the corresponding switch it will likely not work as the switch wont support a link of 2.5 or 5G over SFP - cisco in example only supports 1 or 10G, so even if both SFP…
  • We have a TZ570 and a 400mb sym. WAN connection - we basically get the full 400mb, 350-390 in speedtest with GAV, IPS "on"
  • As for the TZ470 and 570: Forget it Since those FWs only support 2.5 or 5G and not 10G over SFP only the originla SW SFP module will work and that only the Cat5/6 version and not fiber (fiber usually doesnt sync with 2.5 or 5g) - I have tried about 8-10 different, SW compatible SFP modules and there is now way you will get…
  • Yes, whacked the mole for 5 months for issue GEN7-33847 - 🤣
  • Yeah that setting can be really painfull to use - I only used it once when I changed the provider and had to use new DNS servers and many of the old ones were entered manually on the machines - the setting worked fine as it intercepted the DNS requests and I had time to change them on the machines - after 3 days some stuff…
  • Yes it is cheaper and faster to just bu the TZ670 - correct. But once you have the TZ570 and you then buy a new TZ670 it will offset you much more than twice the price of the two 1874 - so if you already have it you are screwed. It could be an easy fix via software, but well it doesn't seem to happen so the TZ570 is model…
  • So finally Imanaged a 2.5G connection. You have to buy the Sonicwall overprized SFP module 1784 (copper) and you need a switch on the other side supporting 2.5 - best a switch with native 2.5G ports, so no SFP on the switch side as those often only run at either 1 oder 10G (which will not link up at 2.5 or 5g) This is an…
  • It is a complicated issue if one looks closely. The removal of 10G support means the following: NO 10G Fiber connections - since there are no fiber SFP modules for 1,5 and 5GB ti just means that fiber is useless In theory this leaves one with SFP+-T modules for CAT6a connections which very well can do 2,5G and 5G. The…
  • I do have the link speed option, that is not the problem . The problem is that there are no compatible SFP modules to make a connection and that Sonicwall lists modules as compatible which actually aren't - see above - that is the problem.
  • I have tried several SFP modules, from sonicwall over FSP custom made for TZ570 to "generic" modules - it just doesn't work. I even got to a point where the LEDs on my Cisco swtich showed "link", even the Cisco UI showed "link up" - sonicwall showed "no link" - this more than annoying right now! The whole point here is the…
