Another aspect to consider is the current version of your existing TZ670's firmware. In all likelihood, newly manufactured TZ670s will have 7.1.1, and all the associated birthing problems. If you are running 7.0.1, my suggestion is you stay there and renew your subscription. You can always upgrade later after SonicWall…

Alright, shame on me (seriously). It turns out the GFI tripped on the outlet. Embarrassed as all get out that it took a few days to track that down, but the site's electrician did give me an education.

Two years later at the same client site - the same problem! Both devices are online for several days, and both update to current firmware. Suddenly, on Saturday, May 4 at 10:48 am, a warning is issued and the status is "offline" - that's it. Nothing else. Good thing I took a TSR from each unit on May 3, but not looking…

And is anyone seeing this with 7.0.1-5151-R5624, which was released March 12, 2024?

The short answer to your original question is: Yes. Here's how I have my LAN and one of my LAB environments: You can then go to Access Rules to ensure isolation between your LAN and secondary environment.

@Community Manager - can you offer any help with this instance?
-
@Community Manager - this is a one-off, but must be addressed (somehow).

You might want to update to the latest firmware - not that it will help this situation - but there are lots of other fixes…

Best approach: manually enter your settings. That will let you review everything to determine what is - and isn't - applicable. Second best approach: Update your existing Gen 6 device to the most current firmware level, export the configuration, run that through the Migration Utility, import the result to your new Gen 7…

Oh, good heavens! What an awful new solution. The IVR doesn't seem to recognize the Serial Number, despite repetition. I'm not even sure spelling each letter (e.g., B as in Bravo) was helpful. Once on hold though, the new music - which is bright, and cherry, and even more annoying than the previous wait tune - is SO VERY…

Gonna take this back. The SUBSCRIPTIONS change date; however, the actual LICENSED dates do not change. What a horrific mess - I'm sorry I promoted this as a positive - it is totally flawed!

In the six weeks since I originally posted, I learned my MSSP will be offering Heimdal's MXDR solution for one dollar more than SentinelOne. This product contains a dozen additional features that match over vendor offerings. The primary distinction is the ability to use one pane of glass (sound familiar?) to manage DNS…

Having not jumped to 7.1.1, but cognizant of the new DNS feature, I'm grateful to both of you for pointing this out.

Tim, I appreciate that. I haven't landed this prospect as a client yet, so we'll see what happens (and how bad it gets). And, of course, to use the Migration Utility to produce a Gen 7 file, the old device must be running the latest firmware. At least I know it is doing cloud backups...

The March 2024 firmware releases (for Gen 6.5, Gen 7, and Gen 7.1) contain the fix for this problem.
