If someone has taken advantage of SonicWall's Secure Upgrade program, that means a device has been marked as "no longer available" for services. The arrangement for the program is that the new device will take over all licenses of the old one, and the old one is no longer anything other than a doorstop (or e-waste).…

I gave you EXAMPLES of what things should look like. The IP address in the Web Management Settings section is for the certificate. It has NOTHING to do with your management interface, which is defined in X0. The setting for "Allow management by HTTP" is what you should focus on, since you say that's the only way you…

You MUST review two settings. First, in System > Administration scroll down until you see Web Management Settings section. It should look something like this (your HTTPS port will be different): Second, in Network > Interfaces, your X0 interface should look something like this (your IP address will be different): Save each…

@sonictek - is this "method" something Support told you? Or are you winging it, and it happened to work? Just trying to understand what could potentially go wrong later on with a 7.1.2-wxyz firmware update.

Download the exe file from the website. Open the exe file with 7-zip and save the displayed msi file. Use the documented switches to install the msi file. Again, Google can be your friend…

I have a client who has a TZ350 that was up for license renewal in October. The price increase was coming August 1, with anticipated 40% increase on the Gen 6.5 and 10% on the Gen 7 devices. I mentioned that in the long run, it would be less expensive to take advantage of migrating to a TZ470 before the end of July. After…

@BWC - I am holding at 5151 for all Gen 7.0.1 devices, including my lab machine (meaning NO to 7.1.1 and absolutely NOT for 7.1.2). I'm not convinced anyone at SonicWall has spent sufficient time walking through the nuances of the changes they have recently released. Too hurried, too rushed, too oblivious. None of them are…

Did you disable the HTTP setting on your LAN interface?

Necroposting because I am migrating a TZ350 to a TZ470 and there are about 400 Rogue AP address objects that are unnecessary (and will probably be replaced in actual use). I searched for / filtered the list for "Rogue AP" and clicked the box at the top of the list to select all. I then click the Delete button in the table…

Yes, to get the basic information of all address objects and groups and the basic miscellany correctly copied over. I'm certainly in no mood to stand it up from scratch despite the SOPs that detail all of the above. The ability to have an almost production-ready file for implementation (and clean up any errors) far exceeds…

Yes, a full day after release and the latest firmware editions, including 7.1.2, have appeared in MSW. Even the Technical Documentation site has the release notes for 7.1.2 and an entry for the Cloud Secure Edge Feature.

And this afternoon, July 16, I received an email that states: Dear Valued Partner, SonicWall is releasing new firmware for Gen6 NSv and Gen7 TZ, NSa, NSsp, and NSv tomorrow. This firmware includes critical security fixes and other key updates and should be applied immediately. If you or your customers are running older…

The appliance has a version of the firmware that is above the maximum supported version 7.0.1-5145. "Missed it by that much!" - M. Smart

The solution will be a combination of both your replies. I have just obtained a TZ470 for a client and will use that: migrate TZ670 settings to TZ470, update them, export them - migrate when turnover day occurs. Factory refresh TZ470 and set up settings according to site's requirements. Thanks!
