Mobile Connect 5.0.14 for iOS seems to be broken
I've had two users who have recently reported to me that they are no longer able to login to our SSLVPN via the iOS version of Mobile Connect. The common thread for these users is that their devices are on the most recent version of the app (5.0.14). Also, both of these devices are on FirstNet (aka AT&T).
Both users get a "The network connection was lost." error as soon as they enter their credentials and try to connect. Their accounts work on other FirstNet connected, non-5.0.14 devices, including 5.0.12 on iOS and 5.0.19 on Android
Here's a (sanitized) copy of the log file from one of their phones:

We are having the same problem. Hopefully Sonic will fix that problem really soon. A lot of our workers who are on business trips have no access to their e-mail accounts at the moment.
Same issue. Mobileconnect not working after latest update. Have a client with an old version and it works fine. Netextender program works fine. Sonicwall acknowledged there is a problem yet? Customer wants fixed ASAP and I can't find any other mobile apps that will work. Might have to buy a new firewall and switch vendors altogether.
Hi @AndrewGW, the team is looking into this.
In the mean time can I update your title from, "Mobile Connect for iOS 5.0.14 seems to be broken" to, "Mobile Connect 5.0.14 for iOS seems to be broken".
At first I thought you were using Mobile Connect on iOS 5... which is quite old :)

All; Thanks for bringing this to our attention. SonicWall Tech Support is working with our engineering team, to get this analyzed.
Oh, right. Yeah, please do.
Facing the same issue, exactly the same version of the App. Over all kinds of networks.
I checked against my SMA with SSL-VPN and Wireguard and I was able to log into just fine. The issue seems to be appear "only" when connecting to Firewall appliances.

Does anyone have a clue whether there are TZ models and/or SonicOS versions that are not affected by this?
The issue is observed with Mobile Connect 5.0.14 when used in conjunction with Gen5, Gen6 and Gen7 firewalls, even with latest firmware versions. Our engineering team is working on the issue and and as a temporary measure the application has been pulled down from the App Store.
Sonicwall mobile connect not working
removed from App store,
Help required in this.
Please provide alternate solution for connection
please provide alternate option
I want to give an update that this (Mobile Connect 5.0.14) is affecting Gen5 and Gen6 devices running 6.5.4.0 or older firmware. The issue is not observed when used with Gen7 firewalls.
We are closely working with our engineering team to get the timeline for the fixed version of Mobile Connect.
We updated our Gen6 Firewall to the latest firmware and now it is working again. Thanks for the information about the firmware issue.
I am having this issue with a TZ105. Does someone have informations whether the latest firmware will help or if SonicWall will resolve this issue for this model?
Also I am struggling with the generation count of the TZ series. The only resource I found was the link below. Is this according to the official way of counting TZ generation or is this in invention of this specific reseller?

I want to give an update that Mobile Connect 5.0.15 for iOS platforms, which will have the fix, is expected to be available on September 18, 2023. This is the current plan/timeline.
Does anyone know of an ALTERNATIVE to Sonicwall Mobile Connect that I can setup for my client when the app stops working (as it is currently)?
This isn't the first time this happened (i.e. https://www.reddit.com/r/sonicwall/comments/ydqhjn/sonicwall_iphone_app_not_working_after_161_ios/)
I would like my client to have an alternative method for them to connect from their iPhone. They already have alternative for Windows and Mac but they often use their iphone for check VPN logins.
Thanks in advance.
I have a client who's not on iOS but is having the same issue. In the meanwhile, please provide alternate solution for iOS and Android users. Thanks.
@Cat , Android users (Mobile Connect for Android platforms) are not affected with this issue.
Until Mobile Connect becomes available (expected release date 09/18), alternatively the native L2TP service on the iOS platform can be utilized in conjunction with firewalls, if firmware update is not feasible on the Gen6 firewall or if a Gen5 device is being used. Please refer to the following KB article for the steps

We have a Gen 7 Sonicwall, and are not having this problem. We are trying to onboard new employee phones today and not having the app in the app store is very bad. We really have to wait 10 more days to get it back when it isn't broken for us? Swapping our whole VPN setup to L2TP is NOT a viable option. This is just bad.
Verified. Android users are ok. Thanks.
Hopefully tomorrow it will be working again on IOS devices. Thank you
5.0.15 is available on the app store now however doesn't seem to be working for us.
We can install and configure the app for our VPN server but it presents a message "* is not a Sonicwall SSL VPN Server".
Other iPads still on version 5.0.13 are able to connect no worries, as well as Android devices.
Anyone else having this issue?
Same here, 5.0.15 is giving the “is not a SonicWall SSL VPN server”. And this is connecting to our SMA500v (strictly the VPN only). Where can I download the 5.0.13 version that others say still works?
Actually I have have 5.0.16 and still does same message
