The Windows Remote Access Service (RAS) has encountered an error
Error: The Windows Remote Access Service (RAS) has encountered an error. Rebooting your Window PC may resolve this issue.
I am hosting SSL VPN for users on NSA 2650 and TZ400 devices. My users have experienced the above error many times, but in one case recently the usual troubleshooting steps have not resolved the issue.

To date we have experienced this on NetExtender version 10.2.300, 9.0.0.274, and 8.6.265. We have uninstalled all WAN Miniport drivers in Windows 10, version 20H2, then rebooted the PC. This may allow a connection for a short while, but the issue re-appears.
Are there any other suggestions for a long-term fix for this issue?
Thank you!

Hi @VargoIT
For resolving The Windows Remote Access Service (RAS) has encountered an error problem, Please follow the below step;
Navigate to Windows Device Manager --> Network Adaptores and uninstall the WAN Miniport (IP) and WAN Miniport (PPTP) devices, then scan for the hardware changes. Once it done the hardware changes try to use the NetExtender.
AJISHLAL:
This works temporarily, but as I mentioned in the original post -- it tends to be short-lived and the issue re-appears on the same day, requiring the user to again uninstall and scan for hardware changes for the WAN Miniport (IP) & (PPTP) devices.
Hi @VargoIT
If its not solving the issue permanently, Try to install Sonicwall Mobile connect.
Is the mobile connect client limited to a Chrome extension, or is there a proper Windows 10 application? Thanks!
Hey @VargoIT ,
You can download SonicWall Mobile Connect from the Windows Store. It is a Windows 10 application.
Hope this helps!
Hi @VargoIT
Fyi, I am using Sonicwall Mobile connect in my laptop until now no issue. You can download from below link.

Just wanted to mention if anyone stumbles on this like I did, that the solution in my case was to install the latest feature update. The workstation was on 1909. Getting it to the latest feature update resolved the problem.
