Migration from fortigate to sonicwall

Hi Team,

One of my customer is currently using fortigate firewall and he wants to replace this with sonicwall firewall . In fortigate firewall configuration is huge so can we use sonicwall migration tool to do this configuration Or any other best way to do this.

Hello @Darshil,

As mentioned by @Connex_Ananth, the migration tool will only migrate the following from Fortigate to SonicWall.

Zone, Access Rule, Network Object, Static route and Service. So, any other configurations like NAT and VPN will not be available using the migration tool.

So, honestly if you have the configuration settings from Fortigate in CLI, you can use that to replicate settings on SonicWall using the CLI commands available for SonicWall. Unfortunately, this is not a one step process and would need some administrative work to configure the SonicWall exactly as the Fortigate.

As per my experience, none of firewall migration tools are 100% complete and i would recommend you to use Sonicwall migration tool covert as text/CLI. you can get configuration commands from the text.
