Firewall name

I am a complete newbie in re: SonicWall

My question is - the Firewall "name" - defaults to the device MAC address.

Is that used by anything internally? (i.e. can I change the firewall name without breaking anything?)

Welcome to SonicWall community.

Yes, it is for identification alone and is not internally linked to anything specific. You can change it and that does not have any other dependencies.
