10.2.1.14 - Freezing after a while (OWA related?)

BWCBWC Cybersecurity Overlord ✭✭✭

Does anyone has issues with the SMA 500v that it is acting weird after a short period of time. The login page is available but logging into the system spins forever and there is no response.

Only a reboot can fix this.

I did some digging in the so called TSR and in a desperate move I disabled two Exchange Offload Portals and since than the SMA seems to be stable.

Any idea what could cause this? Because this is a long running deployment and the issues started recently.

@David W anything you could think of?

@David W thanks, I thought we tackled SMA issues in the past, but I guess I confused you with Vijay for some reason, sorry.

There are many reasons that this could happen.

    -resource limitations

-attempt to overwhelm the SMA(DDOS attack)

-outdated firmware: your SMA must run on 10.2.1.14-75sv

-there should not be any downgrade history

A real time troubleshooting is needed here. You can call us by obtaining your SonicWall's regional phone number from here:  https://www.sonicwall.com/support/contact-support/

Hi @Bogale thanks for info, but I ticked all the checkmarks for the reasons already. We have a SMA with 2 Cores and 8 GB of RAM, it only happens if I enable one of these two Exchange offloads, all other Portals are not involved and should be a target for a possible DOS as well. Firmware as mentioned is 10.2.1.14.

What do you mean by downgrade history?

Realtime troubleshooting is somewhat impossible, because there is nothing obvious until it happens and suddenly the appliance is no longer reachable, which would make troubleshooting no longer possible.

I asked the customer to check if there are any message on the VMware console when it happens, maybe it's a clue in there.
