Upgraded internet service, TZ300W can't handle it?

We recently upgraded our internet service from 300Mb to 750Mb. However, a speed test still shows the internet to be around 300Mb. Is the TZ300W not capable of doing more than 300Mb on the WAN port? The X1 WAN port shows a status of "1 Gbps Full Duplex"…

We have NO services licensed on this box, so there should be little to no overhead as far as I know. I know that the spec sheet for the TZ300W shows lots of max throughput numbers, but since we have no services licensed, the only one that should matter is the max 750Mb on "Firewall Inspection Throughput", correct?

Numbers on spec sheets are aggregate figures achieved through the "industry standard" process of putting multiple flows across every interface.

It would be nice if Sonicwall could also publish a "real-world standard" figure of what performance one can achieve with just 1 WAN + 1 LAN in use.

Firewall Settings > Advanced > Connections: you could try playing with the three global options there, but it may make little difference if you don't have any services licensed.

@Arkwright Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I tried changing Maximum Security to Maximum Performance and setting Maximum DPI Connections (DPI Services Enabled) to Maximum SPI Connections (DPI Services Disabled) and reboot and it makes no difference. It never gets above 300Mb.

If we plug something straight into the cable modem, we get 800Mb, so I know it's not the internet service that's throttling. And, our upload speed went from like 10 - 15 to 30 - 40, so I know something got upgraded.

Looks like we're just going to have to bite the bullet and ditch the TZ300W for something else that can handle more than 300Mb…

Instead of a speed test, start a download with a download manager or try downloading several files in parallel.

The single streams of the SonicWalls are usually slower.
