OpenVPN client behind NSA 4700

RecoilRecoil Newbie ✭

Hi folks,

We are getting a NSA 4700 installed and I would like to be able to VPN out from behind that firewall using a OpenVPN client.

Would I be able to use the OpenVPN client from the start or is there configuration that I need to do in the firewall to give permission to the application? Thank you!

Default LAN→WAN rules allow any service, so this will just work.

You say "We" are getting it installed, rather than "I am installing it", so questions about configuration details are probably best answered by those doing the work.

    Hi Arkwright,

Thank you for the reply, I do appreciate you.

You are correct is getting installed by a contractor, the bad news is that I won't be back on time to see the upgrade of the firewall. I know that in the NSA 4600 I had to allow the application through the firewall, it was simple just gave it permission and it started to work but I can't recall where that setting lives. It was easy I just thought I ask here so I can turn it on when I am there in a couple of weeks instead of calling Sonicwall.

With all of that said your suggestion seems a bit wide, I do remember last time I did only allow "OpenVPN" and that got it going.
