Is it possible to transfer GVC Licenses from NSa 2650 to TZ 470?
Good day, everyone.
I just want to ask if this is possible. Recently our client downgraded from NSa 2650 to TZ 470 because they downscaled in size. I managed to migrate the config to the new TZ 470 and everything is working fine.
My issue is the GVC Licenses that is purchased on the NSa 2650. In total, there are 80 GVC Licenses in there. With further searching on the datasheet of SonicWall, the default licenses on NSa 2650 are 50, leaving us to 30 purchased licenses. I already called SonicWall support and request the transfer but on their end, all 80 of the licenses are tagged as default and they can't move it.
To add, the new TZ 470 is purchased separately and not via SECURE UPGRADE. But still, they're on the same tenant. I'm thinking this might be the issue why the transfer is not possible in this case. What do you think? Do we have a clear requirement of how a license can be transferred like it should be same model level (NSa to NSa only), or the purchase should be a SECURE UPGRADE only?
If somebody can explain this, I would really appreciate it. I just need an explanation so that I can relay it to them and be done. Thank you so much!

@KhalMateo open a Ticket with Customer Support on MySonicWall, they will give you a definite answer. My gut feeling is that SNWL will not transfer but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks, but i already created tickets and they all answer the same. They only see that the licenses in the NSa 2650 is default so they can't do anything and have no option to transfer whatsoever. But the datasheet clearly says that the default is only 50 and we have 80. Really confusing.
Thanks for answering, btw.
@KhalMateo that is correct, 50 is the default. Do you still have the activiation key for the additional licenses? Maybe Customer Support can reassign them to the new appliance?
@Community Manager do you have any other idea how to resolve this?
