Allow internal network http listener

Hello,

I've been asked by my company to figure out this issue with the sonicwall, note that I have a very rudimentary understanding of this; the person who configured the firewall is not available. We have an application that provides an http listener service running on the internal server that wireless tablets access through an internal webpage. The tablets browse to the internal IP address of the server and port number. For example: 192.168.125.125:80

The firewall is currently blocking this, so the tablets cannot access the website. We go into the firewall settings and allow http, and this works for a while, but the setting reverts back to not allowing it every couple days. What do we need to do to provide a permanent solution so users can access this internal application service?

Thank you,

Give us a clue - what is "the setting" in question?

You have given very little information. Please at least tell us what model and firmware you are running.

"but the setting reverts back to not allowing it every couple days."

If the rule / setting you are editing actually REVERTS to the previous setting than there is something likely going on with the hardware, the device is connected to a central management (e.g. NSM), or possibly your firewall person could be re-applying a config via API or other automated method.

If the rule / setting doesn't actually revert, but the functionality is lost this could be a firmware or hardware issue.
