TZ 370 Flapping on X1

We have a TZ 3700 with firmware SonicOS 7.0.1-5051 which is flapping on X1 for between 2-3 seconds hundreds of time a day. The internet connection cuts out on video meetings.

We have a pppoe connection with static IP.

We have:

changed the modem ,

changed the cat 5 cables,

changed the MTU to 1492

the problem persists.

HELP !!!

looks like it could a physical issue with the interface.

For 1Gb use auto/auto for 10/100 set the speed and duplex to match the upstream device.

You could change the X1 to another physical interface to determine IF its a hardware fault

@JWBDH it might be the all time classic, could you try to put a mini switch between X1 and your Modem? This solved port flapping for a lot of us. SonicWall never answered the question why this happens but if a 10$ switch solves the issue I honestly don't care anymore.

    THANK YOU! @BWC

Since I put a switch between the X1 and Modem it has not flapped once in 5 hours vs 5 times an hour!

@sonicwall is there ever going to be a long term fix to this flapping? We purchased your appliance not to place a $10 switch between your device and the modem, It only adds another point of failure!

We have the same issue. We changed to X2 with no luck. Sonicwall RMA'd us a new 370, we replaced our switch and wires and we got a new fibre PPPOE modem. No failover. The issue hasn't changed.

Oddly, we have exactly the same setup at our other location but it's cable with fibre failover and there are no issues.

Whenever it drops we lose VOIP and any video\Zoom meetings drop. It's painful.

With all the preople I've read complaining about this, you'd think there would be a fix.

we have used two fiber-to-copper-converters, two SFP modules and one multimode patch cable. if we can, we directly use the modems or the sonicwalls SFP slot. we think this is somehow an electrical issue.
