Remote sites need to access a host who has changed its IP/subnet but must use the original IP

Remote sites need to access a host that has moved to a new datacenter, thus its IP/subnet has changed. I can't change the application's fixed destination IP. So, could I put a NAT rule in each remote site to change the destination IP from the original to the new IP? I did a basic NAT policy and tested it with ping and I don't get a reply using the original IP, only works with the new IP.
We can see the policy gets plenty of hits...
Ideas, suggestions?

Start with a packet capture. You might need to do this at both ends to see where the replies are getting lost.
