Windows Group Policy

Hello SW Community,

Am looking for some help. We have a client utilizing SonicWall NetExtender VPN for Windows based clients in a windows-based domain. Looking for ways to allow group policy to effectively update over VPN, which doesn't seem to happen, and we've checked all of the reference materials we can find. Even users with a seemingly wide-open VPN cannot fully update group policy.

Am wondering if there are some basic policies to allow this traffic, or force this traffic, with a split-tunnel VPN. We could potentially tunnel all traffic, but that puts a burden on internet backhaul, and we don't want to go that way.

Has anyone had success with group policy over SSLVPN and if so, what did you do to ensure it worked properly?

We're on version 6 still, by the way...

Thanks in advance, Ken

I would start with the basics.

Making sure the NX client has the correct and can access the Logon servers, DNS servers, DNS suffix is correct in order for it to correctly enumerate AD.

I've not seen an issue with GP's being applied over the VPN

Also look at the LOGONSERVER variable to see if you actually have a logon server
