Forum software auto logs out

Has anyone else noticed that this forum software will auto log you out....but only if you leave a tab open?

I browse here once a day and very rarely have to log in, and close the tab when done. But if I leave it open on this site, it will then eventually log me out. I wonder what kind of security feature this is supposed to be? :D
