Connect to host dropping intermittently through SonicWall

Hello all,
Got a TZ400, customer connects to a vendor intranet site via an ASA VPN gateway. The connection to the intranet site seems to go down about every 3 or 4 hours for 10 minutes and then comes back up. I thought this issue was on the vendor side but after removing the SonicWall the issue goes away. My question is, is there some service that would Intermittently block a connection?

What is the mechanism by which they connect? VPN software running on the clients? VPN tunnel on the Sonicwall to the ASA?
My immediate thought would be some connection timeout, but TBH nowadays protocols are pretty chatty so a 4h timeout seems unlikely.
