Is it normal for these devices to die after 13 months? Very frustrated as we spent over $650 each for four of these devices and 1 has already died. The service plans are ridiculously expensive. Anyone recommend another brand or repair facility?
@bmastel I'am selling these appliances for many years and the defect rate is really low, even for the new Gen7 devices no hardware failures (knock on wood).
These kind of security devices can only shine paired with the security serivces (which come with hardware replacement), otherwise you could simply buy a router.
And I agree with Michael @BWC there is literally no point in purchasing a SonicWall firewall appliance without the requisite security services. That cost should be irrelevant if you want a secure environment. They provide you with firmware updates, and support for problems, well, like this.
Now, if you purchased these devices using a credit card, you might want to check with MasterCard, Visa, or American Express to see the version of your card offers any additional warranty past the original manufacturers.
