What to do with MIB Files

2020_VCinc2020_VCinc Newbie ✭

Newbie here and just updated the firmware and see MIB files.

What are they for and what do I do with them.

Any help would be appreciated.

    MIB (Management Information Base) file is a database that contains configuration and management information of the firewall to be used in conjunction with the SNMP protocol. An SNMP management system, that can monitor the device, uses these database files to interpret the messages sent by the firewall. A few examples of SNMP monitoring software are;

    Paessler PRTG

    SolarWinds Network Monitor

    Kaseya Network Monitor

    Mustafaa thanks for the information.

    We are a small business with a TZ270W, a 24 port unmanaged switch and PCs.

    Do I understand this correctly, I would only use MIB files if I am running network monitoring software?
