Tech Tips: SD WAN Scalability
Hello Everyone,
SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) is a technology that uses Software-defined networking (SDN) concepts to provide software-based control over wide area network connection. Features such as intelligent Failover, load balancing help ensure more consistent performance and availability of critical business and SaaS applications.
It is extremely helpful for route based VPN tunnels where critical services should always use the best path to the remote location.
On 6.5.4.x we support SD-WAN for unnumbered tunnel interfaces as well. SonicOS 6.5.4.6 release enhances SD-WAN to support scalable tunnel interfaces for distributed enterprises. This increases the supported number of remote sites from 100 in previous versions to up to 1000 sites in SonicOS 6.5.4.6.
This is another reason why you should consider upgrading the SonicOS to 6.5.4.6. Use the following KB for the detailed procedure on upgrading the SonicOS for your product.
I hope this is helpful!
Thanks!!
