NSA2650 SFP Ports Set to 2.5GE
JSchultz Newbie ✭
Hi - new to this community so I appreciate the help. We just got a NSA2650 for a new circuit we are installing. WAN port needs to be connected to an SFP port but the 2 that are listed for 2.5/1 GE SFP ports will not allow me to select 2.5. It only gives me an option for 1 gig or Auto Negotiate. What am I doing wrong?

Check your backend ISP router will support 2.5GbE or not. Most probably that router interface is 1GbE thats why SOnicwall WAN interface showing only 1Gig.
As well as check the SFP module which you installed in Sonicwall will support 2.5GbE or not.
@JSchultz did you checked with SNWL that your SFP Module is supported? What Module are you trying to use, maybe someone else already has some knowledge about it.
This KB-article isn't mentioning the NSa 2650 at all.
@BWC I am hoping this is the issue. I found that chart yesterday as well and ordered a new SFP. Should have it today at some point. The NSA 2650 is in there. It's in the column with NSA 6650, 5650, 4650, 3650, 2650.
@Ajishlal Hopefully this is it. The SFP I was using does support 2.5 GbE but was not on this list .
Thank you both for the response.
@BWC Unfortunately, I purchased one of the approved compatible SFPs and it still does not give me the option under Link Speed for 2.5. There also appears to be no link between the ISP and the SonicWall but that could be because the configuration is not allowing me to set it up properly.
@JSchultz that's a bummer, you might check with Support and hopefully it does not end like this:
I don't have any 2.5 equipment to test with.
@BWC Thanks for sharing. Not looking promising. Appreciate the help.
