NSA 3650 static high CPU usage after update from 6.5.4.7 -> 6.5.4.8

ChojinChojin Enthusiast ✭✭

Hi everyone,

after an update to the latest firmware our 3650 has a static high CPU usage on core 4, 3, and 2 mostly above 50%.

I already disabled app controll, gav, ips, antispy but this wont help.

the local log also doesnt seem to get pumped with entries.

I already powered both Sonicwalls (Active/standby Cluster) off and on.

Any idea or manuel how I could check what is causing this issue and how to resolve it?

ps: i dont see high traffic on the interfaces

  • Hello @Chojin,

The changes you have made are related to Core 0 as they affect the Control Plane. Core 2,3, and 4 are data cores and you may need to check what kind of traffic is passing through the firewall. If you have any monitoring tools like NSM or Analytics, you should be able to see that.

The App flow monitor on the firewall should also help.

Otherwise, feel free to reach our support team for further help.

    Thanks!

Hi thanks for the quick reply.

It seems there is really low traffic on the sonicwall. Especially for a NSA 3650

It seems support would be the best choice, Hopefully they react quick.

  • Yes, this definitely needs further investigation. Please reach out to our Support team.

    Thanks!

    short update.....

still waiting for the support to investigate....the first steps is just questions which should have been answered in an instant of time if the tsr or config file were checked.

    will keep you updated

    Update:

no satisfying results - still static high CPU -> maybe the next firewall should be from another company :-(
