Software needs to be on same network
We have a customer with some older software and it can only run where the client program and the database is on the same local network. We are installing a new Windows 2012 server (only version the software will support) and they already have SonicWall TZ400 SonicWall with about six workstations connected to it. We setup a VPN and we can connect with NetExtender thru there but not sure if that is even a viable option. The customer wants to work remotely and the only way we do it now is using Splashtop and they access a workstation from home to one in the office. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello @lemansgt,
Welcome to the SonicWall community.
I am guessing that the SSLVPN IP pool is kept separate from LAN or the subnet on which the database is present. You can probably set up the following NAT so that the firewall translates the IP when it communicates with the database.
Original Source: SSLVPN IP pool
Translated source: X0 IP (If the database is present on X0 subnet)
Original destination: Database IP
Translated Source: original
Original Service: Any
Translated Sevice: Original
Inbound Interface: Any
Outbound Interface: Any
With this in place when an SSLVPN client tries to communicate with the database, it would look as if the traffic is coming from X0 IP and that is the same subnet on which it is present.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!
