Hallo
Is there a way to add/enable: Safe mode
Any changes made when safe mode is enabled will not be permanent when you log out or accidentally disconnect
Only when you disable safe mode all changes wil be permanent.

Hi @Sliderhome
IMHO there is no "Safe Mode" like on Mikrotik Routers for example. All modifications are persistent, if you locked yourself out you need to find another way to get into the appliance, like from another interface or console.
To be honest, in all the years it was pretty rare that I locked myself out, it can happen, but lessons learned :)

@BWC Thanx.
It would be a nice option to add, if you have a remote location with nobody on the premises, it is better to be safe than sorry.
