Windows Update 2004 kills NetExtender

I have more than one user who has installed Windows Feature Update 2004 and now cannot connect to my SonicWall SSL-VPN via NetExtender. When they try, it connects and then immediately disconnects, and reports "The Windows Remote Access Service (RAS) has encountered an error. Rebooting your Window [sic] PC may resolve this issue."

Rebooting does not resolve it. Neither does uninstalling and reinstalling NetExtender 8.6.265, or restarting the services, or upgrading to Nothing works.

Any help here?
