Yes, we can export the settings file (backup) from TZ 300 and import it into a TZ 600. In general, we have two types of settings import supported, Partial (C) and Complete (Y). Partial is usually from higher models to lower models, wherein configuration information from extra interfaces will be removed. NAT policies, Firewall access rules, and other interface-dependent configuration will also be removed. Complete is where in settings file from one model is carried over to the other model as it is. Also, settings import is not supported from a firewall running on a higher version of firmware to a firewall running on a lower version of the firmware. Take note that some config options (DPI-SSL Server config and associated certificates) and the device admin password do not get migrated over even with a Complete migration. They still need to be manually set on the new device and dependencies (like the certificates) manually exported and imported over in separate steps.
