can we block facebook messenger without dpi?

Hi all,

I recently implemented sonicwall firewall in our customer site. Customer needed to block total facebook and related apps. I blocked it successfulley via CFS,app rule and app control. But there is problem with messenger app. For messenger app outgoing message blocked fine. But incoming massage is coming.

Is there any solution to block messnger for both incoming and outgoing?

    I will check this and let you know.I try to block through FQDN "www.facebook.com". It did not success. I will try this, as per KB article which you suggested as well.
