Wyse Terminal OpenConnect

RogerCaponeRogerCapone Newbie ✭

Is any way to use a Wyse terminal (5010 Dx0D) to connect to our SonicWALL TZ500 SSL VPN? The terminal has a built-in OpenConnect VPN client, but it won't connect. I have some users working from home with these, but they're using a NAT policy to RDP into our internal system, and I'd like to eliminate those insecure connections.

    Hi @ROGERCAPONE,

Thank you for reaching out to SonicWall Community.

SonicWall Firewall appliances and SonicWall SMA appliances support our Proprietary software's called Netextender or Mobile Connect for VPN access. The software ports used by the Firewall and SMA appliances are TCP 4433 and TCP 443 respectively.

Basically, when using any third party software(s) for VPN access, there is a very possibility that it or they may work with SonicWall or SMA. Actually, we do not support if the VPN is not connecting due to the fact that we do not know the design of the third party software(s) and therefore its not feasible for us to diagnose.

With SonicWall, the solutions that we offer for the SSLVPN users are,

    • The VPN users can use browser mode of SSLVPN access to local resources and this is done using Virtual Office. But only limited resources are available for access.
    • In case if using Netextender or Mobile Connect applications, there is no limit for the access resource.

Please let us know your SSLVPN licenses on the Firewall and the requirement in detail so that we can try finding and accommodate your request(s) using any of the above two options.

Our Wyse terminals do not have a browser. They're thin clients designed for RDP connections. We have enough SSL VPN licenses at this time. They have a built-in OpenConnect VPN client, but I have not been able to get it to connect to our VPN.

@ROGERCAPONE - We can understand your concern. We are petrified to tell you that, it is hapless that our SonicWall products are not compatible with 3rd party VPN clients due to the design constrains.
