Yes SonicWall supports dynamic routing protocols. As far as GRE there is no configuration on the SonicWall. Simply allow the GRE traffic through the firewall via access rules.

The correct method for supporting a PPTP server is documented. https://www.sonicwall.com/support/knowledge-base/how-can-i-open-pptp-traffic-to-a-pptp-server-behind-the-sonicwall/170503717950039/ In it, you will notice that the rules and NATs use the service named PPTP. There is special SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) code for PPTP which manages the necessary GRE prototcol to be allowed, once the control TCP connection is established between client and server. Similar SPI code has been part of SonicOS for special protocols such as PPTP, FTP and VOIP for over 15 years. I hope this helps.

Hi @Karan1234 ,
you cannot terminate a GRE tunnel on the SonicWall appliance if this what you looking for. But you can install a GRE tunnel endpoint (Mikrotik, Cisco, etc.) behind the SonicWall and go from there. BGP and OSPF is supported but I never worked with them.

Hi @KaranM ,
Yes, SonicWALL NSA series support both OSPF and BGP routing but For TZ series it's required to purchase extended license for BGP routing.
