SonicWave 432e - force a wide channel in 2.4GHz radio
How to force a wide channel (40 MHz band) for the 2.4GHz radio in SonicWave 432e?
I have two APs in the WLAN zone. One is SonicPoint N2 and the other is SonicWave 432e. In both of them, two radio modules are enabled, 2.4GHz and 5GHz. In both APs and both of their radios, the 40MHz band is rigidly selected. The channels for the APs are separated. The problem is that SonicWave does not set the wide 40MHz band for 2.4GHz. Despite the unnoisy neighboring channels, radio 2.4GHz it always works only on 20MHz band. For the 5GHz band is always 40MHz wide. I checked it dozens of times for many days through the SonicWall GUI as well as Wi-Fi scanners too. Clients are connected to SonicWave 2.4GHz radio often in 2x2 path mode, but always with a 20MHz band. I tried changing channels for 2.4GHz SonicWave, but it did not help. I also swapped SonicPoint N2 channels with SonicWave. The operating mode for 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios is set as N only with 40MHz bands. Is there anything I can do to make SonicWave work on a wide 40MHz channel in the 2.4MHz radio?

Hi,
Devices certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance must implement the coexistence mechanism for 40 MHz operation in the 2.4 GHz band. If interference is detected, the device dynamically reduces the channel width from 40 MHz to 20 MHz.
thanks
Yes, I know that. However, there is no interference or other AP signals nearby. Previously installed in exactly the same place, SonicPoint ACe always worked at a wide 40MHz channel in the 2.4GHz radio. So far, I have not noticed that SonicWave ever switched to 40MHz width in the 2.4GHz radio.
