Vlan question

Hi,

We have a customer that is sharing offices with other companies within the group and keeping the network separate on there own switches but sharing the SonicWALL.

Is it possible to have a tagged Vlan on say X0:200 that is also on the same subnet range as X2

So X0 native is 192.168.1.0/24, X2 native is 192.168.200.0/24 and X0:200 is 192.168.200.0/24?

I have tried adding the Vlan on X0 but saying its conflict with X2.

Kind Regards

Generally speaking, no, you can't configure overlapping IPs on SonicOS. From your diagram it seems like you are wanting to use the Sonicwall as a switch.

    Two possible approaches:

    • Use multiple physical links on the Sonicwall and have a portshield group for each tenant
    • Configure the VLAN subinterface in "Transparent IP Mode". I haven't tried this and can't say if it will work. Scratch that, it only allows choosing objects in WAN zone, otherwise, that could have been useful.
