Setting an IP reservation inside a DHCP scope

It takes too much work to split a DHCP scope when we want to set a reservation for a specific host. We should be able to select an entry in the the DHCP leases and covert the entry to a reservation. This would save lots of time and effort.

thanks for passing this on to the development team.

    Hello Sir,

    The option you are talking about is already there, you may refer the following KB article to do the same. You just need to create a reservation for you host .

    How can I create a static DHCP entry in the SonicWall UTM appliance? | SonicWall

    @OwaisA when you create a static assignment in the range of a dynamic pool you're greeted with something like this:

    Error: [10.55.1.226 - 10.55.1.226] overlaps with entry [10.55.1.224 - 10.1....

    Same goes for Gen7, you cannot create a static assignment inside a dynamic pool.

    @jacksreb you might get in touch with your SNWL Rep to create a RFE, best of luck.

    @jacksreb,

    You can reserve the IP from the DHCP pool to a host.

    Navigate to ARP -->Static ARP Entries -->Add;

    Add your IP address which you want to exclude from the DHCP scope and bind with the host MAC address.
