Can I install Junkstore on Server without email working yet?

I am setting up a new network (hardware, software, IP scheme, etc) but reusing my firewall. Is it alright to install the junkstore on the new 2019 server without email flowing to the new server? The junkstore is NOT currently installed on the temporary (old) server we are using.

I originally asked this question in December of 2021. I have it up and running now, but thank you for your help. Maybe it will help someone else moving forward.
