having a bit of trouble trying to factory reset a NSA3600

connected my laptop to MGMT port, changed nic to 192.168.168.0 subnet but unable to ping 192.168.168.168 nor browse to it...

According to this KB article, you might not have the correct settings.

What happens when you use?
Local Device IP Address: 192.168.1.20
SonicWall Default IP Address: 192.168.1.254
