NetExtender CLI Linux

I am trying to run NetExtender in a script. The goal is to start NetExtender, sync some files, quit NetExtender. Unfortunately the cli commands seem to be very very basis for it. My idea was to start NetExtender from cli (I got this far), then send it to the background as a job, possibly with '&', run the backup, then quit that job effectually closing the VPN. I can't seem to implement it in a script. When I use '&' it tells me 'open lock file failed'.
Any advice on starting NetExtender in a script?

Hi @ujmif,
Thank you for visiting SonicWall Community.
Have you got a chance to check the below KB?
Hope this helps.

I had not seen that, however it did not help at all. That's for running NetExtender with GUI, when I am running it via CLI. It also doesn't state how to start NetExtender using a script or on a schedule.
i would suggest nesting scripts, rather than trying to run it all in one. can you post a copy (sanitized if needed) of your script? this really isnt a sonicwall question, more linux. what distro are you running?
My 'script' is to start NetExtender, run rsync, then quit NetExtender. I am struggling with running NetExtender via CLI. When it launches it defaults to saying 'press Ctrl+C to quit NetExtender'. This would prevent me from running any commands after it since its taken over the active terminal for the moment. My initial thought was to start 'NetExtender &' making it run as a job in the background, but it doesn't like that either. If I am manually running it, I can simply open a new terminal (Alt+F2), run my command, then go back (Alt+F1), and quit NetExtender. Though I am trying to do all that in one call.
Thse might be what you are looking for. Again, this is a question for a *nix forum, not Sonicwalls.
Good luck.
