Disable Snapshots

FFGFFG Newbie ✭

Hi,

We recently installed CC on our servers and since then diskspace is running out on some servers.

After investigation I do see that there is snapshot/shadowcopy data that is growing since CC installation.

So I created a policy for a selection of servers and disabled Snapshots .. but snapshots are still running, how can I stop this??

  • @FFG,

Is the server rebooted post the policy change? If possible please test once after a reboot to apply the new policy.

    Thanks!

@FFG I can't address the SW CC problem, but this might help you with the space situation.

First, please check to see that VSS is not using UNBOUNDED storage amount by issuing this elevated command:

    vssadmin list shadowstorage

If the result for Maximum Shadow Copy Storage space shows 100%, you need to re-size the amount taken by issuing this elevated command (the amount you choose to use should be based on your environment):

    vssadmin resize ShadowStorage /For=C: /On=C: /MaxSize=10%

Re-run the first command to validate your results.

    Hope that helps!
