NSM templates

Hi,

The NSM admin guide gives instruction on how templates are applied to firewalls and groups. It does however not mention how to remove templates.

I accidentally applied more than one template to some of my firewalls. Any idea on how to remove templates ?

Thank you

  • Hi @FRANNAC,

    Thank you for visiting SonicWall Community.

    Please try deleting the template as shown below.

    Login to NSM, choose Manager View | Home | Templates.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Saravanan,

    deleted the template, but templates still show as applied in group view.

  • @FRANNAC - Did you apply the template after creating it?

    @Saravanan

    yes, I created a baseline template for certain settings that I need to be uniform across all my firewalls, and then I applied it.

  • Thanks for the answer @Frannac. The previously applied templates would show up in the group view just for tracking purpose. This is expected.

    Thanks for the feedback @Saravanan

    Is there anyway to remove it from group view ? Or can I assume that the topmost policy is only one that is applied ?

  • @FRANNAC - I don't see there is a way to remove it from group view. Possibly, you can try to creating one more template with the changes you want and apply it at group level to overcome the existing template that was deleted.

    Its not about the top template that is applied to all the devices but its the template that we chose during Commit & Deploy.
