Repeatedly asked for userid and password using Global VPN Client

Hi,

I have followed the article

and I have successfully entered in the pre-shared key and then it asks for my userid and password and it refuses to take it. I've verified I've created the user and and tried putting in numerous passwords in the sonicwall and then tried them with the client and it refuses to accept them. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. The userid/password display format I am using is Automatic (from the LDAP schema)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @Adrian,

Could you please check the logs on the SonicWall while you are attempting that connection to see what could be the problem?

Few things to look out for:

1) Under MANAGE | Users | Settings, the User authentication method is selected as both Local Users + LDAP

2) The LDAP server is successfully bound and can authenticate the users. Please use the Test tab under LDAP configuration to check this.

3) The right user group is selected under VPN | Base Settings | WAN Group VPN | Advanced tab and the option - User group for XAUTH users.

You can also check the GVC logs to see if there is an authentication failure or access issue. When there is no VPN access provided, the connection does not succeed.

Thank you. I did not have the user authentication method set to local users + LDAP. That did the trick.
