We are going to migrate our GMS SQL database to new server. So just want to know what is the procedure for this migration. I do research on internet but haven't found any article for this.

    Hi @NINAD94,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Could you please confirm answers to below questions?

    • Is your SonicWall GMS running on Windows or ESXi?
    • What is your GMS version?
    • Is your GMS implemented in a distributed deployment where you have a dedicated server for MySQL Database?

    Please update us.

@Ninad94 - Thanks for the details.

If you are planning to use the same old MySQL server's IP address on your new MySQL server, then you can create a MySQL dump on the old server and import the same onto the new server.

The migration unfortunately do not work if the new server is going to listen on a different IP address.

    Hope that helps.

@Saravanan IP is going to change so instead of IP can we use server name..??

  • Ninad94Ninad94 Newbie ✭

@Saravanan so in this case we have to replace local host as a host name instead of IP address in configsgms.xml file.

    I am following below article.
