2FA for Mobile Connect but not working for Global VPN Client

DaehueDaehue Newbie ✭

Hello all,

I configured 2FA for SSL VPN with TOPT and it is working perfectly when I use SonicWall Mobile Connect.

I read the following page to do that.

https://www.sonicwall.com/support/knowledge-base/how-do-i-configure-2fa-for-ssl-vpn-with-totp/190829123329169/

However, I realized that I could use VPN without real-time token if I use SonicWall Global VPN Client.

(SonicWall Global VPN Client allows me to log in when I enter only the password without 2FA code.)

Is there any way to block using SonicWall Global VPN Client?

Also, If I could block this function, will it affect the activated VPN tunnels?

I saw the following article regarding the RADIUS server

https://www.sonicwall.com/support/knowledge-base/configuring-radius-authentication-for-global-vpn-clients-with-network-policy-and-access-server/170505788908370/

To set up the RADIUS server for the Global VPN, Do I need a Windows server?

Please share your knowledge.

Thank you in advance.

To block Global VPN connections simply disable the policy in the VPN tunnels page.

Disabling Global VPN will not affect site-to-site or tunnel interface policies.
