DHCP and WLAN

WLAN interface is bridged to LAN. LAN clients recieve Ip address from seperate DHCP server on LAN. As I understand it, SonicOS reserves a block of upper Ip addresses for access points so how does this work with a seperate DHCP server and sonicOS not handling the address leases? I assume sonicOS just assigns the upper addresses to the APs and I just need to exclude those Ips on the DHCP server scope?

  • Hi @DJHURT1,

Thank you for visiting SonicWall Community.

You are right. SonicWall reserves last range of IP addresses for Sonicpoints/SonicWaves w.r.t the no. of Sonicpoints/SonicWaves mentioned in the WLAN interface.

    Hope this helps.
